    Yes, upgrades are available if seats are still open. A credit card is needed to secure the upgrade.

    Embarkation & Disembarkation:

    What time is embarkation?

    Embarkation begins at 4:00 p.m. If you arrive earlier, you may store your luggage on board and explore Budapest until your stateroom is ready.

    What time is disembarkation?

    Disembarkation usually begins at 9:00 a.m., although earlier departures may be possible depending on docking arrangements.

  4. Dining:

    Are meals and beverages included on board?

    Yes. All meals on board are included. Breakfast features sparkling wine and juices, while lunch and dinner include beer, soft drinks, and unlimited wines with new selections offered daily. Guests can also enjoy a Sip & Sail Cocktail Hour with wine, beer, and spirits. In addition, gourmet coffee, tea, and bottled water are available around the clock.

    Does the ship take dinner reservations?

    The Main Restaurant offers open seating and does not require reservations. Dinner is served in a single seating, and our crew will serve you at your table with a variety of menu choices. Reservations for The Chef’s Table specialty restaurant can be made once you are on board.

    How are breakfast, lunch, and dinner served on board?

    All meals are served à la carte with full table service. Breakfast also includes a small buffet, and select items are available at the culinary action stations, such as made-to-order breakfast bowls. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at your table with multi-course menus offering a wide variety of choices, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

    What type of cuisine is served on board?

    All meals are prepared by expert European chefs and feature both regionally inspired and Western cuisine. Dishes are crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

    What amenities are included in staterooms?

    Staterooms feature:

    • Plush bedding, robes, slippers
    • Marble bathrooms with multi-jet showerheads
    • Entertainment-On-Demand system: TV, movies, music, and complimentary Wi-Fi
    • Daily bottled water, in-room safe, hairdryer, desk, and telephone

    Are phones available in staterooms?

    Yes. You can make ship to ship and ship to shore calls—charges are billed to your onboard account.
  6. Onboard Experience:

    Is Internet available on board?

    Yes. High-speed Internet is included via the Entertainment-On-Demand system, and complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship.

    Are excursions included?

    Yes. Each stop on the itinerary includes one excursion at no additional charge.

    Is there an elevator on board?

    Yes. Amabella is equipped with an elevator serving the top passenger decks, reception, and restaurant. Please note it does not reach the Sun Deck or the lowest passenger deck.

    What is the dress code?

    our attire onboard should strike a balance between comfort and sophistication, with flexibility for excursions during the day and casually elegant evenings.
    • Shore Excursions (Daytime): Comfortable, layered clothing that adapts to changing weather is recommended. Bring comfortable walking shoes for tours. Workout clothing is suggested if you plan to use the gym, join wellness activities, or participate in active tours such as hiking or biking. Depending on the season, layers are especially helpful.
    • Dinners (Evening): Casually elegant outfits are appropriate. We recommend packing at least one dressier option for the Captain’s Dinner, La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs dinner, or an evening concert.

    What amenities are available on board?

    AmaBella offers a variety of amenities designed for relaxation, wellness, and enjoyment during your cruise, including:
    • Heated pool on the Sun Deck
    • Fitness room
    • Beauty Salon & Spa – various hair and beauty treatments as well as massages are available; please inquire at Reception for the list of services and to schedule an appointment
    • Gift shop
    • Lounge with panoramic views and nightly entertainment

    What language is spoken on board?

    The official language on all ships is English. Most crew members speak fluent English, and all announcements and lectures are given in English. In addition, all local guides are fluent in English.

    What is Tethering or “Double Docking”?

    River ships in Europe often share docking ports. This means that at times your ship may be docked directly alongside one or two other river ships. During these periods, the view from your stateroom may be temporarily blocked by a neighboring ship. In some cases, docking next to another vessel may also require navigating stairs, lobbies, or narrow gangways in order to go ashore.

    Do I need to bring a converter or adapter?

    Yes. Electricity on board is 220v with 2-pin outlets, so you may need to bring the appropriate adapter and/or converter depending on your appliances. Please don’t worry if you forget, as most everyday needs are covered, and many devices (like phones and laptops) already have dual-voltage chargers. For safety reasons, personal curling irons, hair straighteners, kettles, and heating pads are not permitted. However, a limited number of safety-approved curling irons and hair straighteners are available to borrow at reception.

    Is air conditioning available in the staterooms?

    Yes. All staterooms in Europe are equipped with individual climate control, allowing you to adjust the temperature in your room for maximum comfort throughout your cruise.

    Are bicycles available?

    Yes. Each of our ships have a limited number of complimentary bicycles and helmets available for use when the ship is docked. Guests may sign them out for independent exploration or join one of the guided bicycle excursions offered on many sailings. Guided tours can be reserved once you are on board. Bicycles are available in three sizes (S, M, L) accommodate different riders.

    Can you accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?

    Yes, we aim to accommodate special dietary needs when notified in advance. Kosher meals are not available.

    Are audio headsets provided during tours?

    Yes, audio headsets are issued during excursions so you can clearly hear the guide at all times.

    What happens if river water levels change?

    AmaWaterways monitors conditions closely and may adjust docking, modify excursions, or arrange alternate transportation as needed. Historically, the Spring season on the rivers of Europe is rarely affected by low water levels.

    Is smoking allowed on board?

    Smoking is prohibited indoors. It is only permitted in the designated area at the aft of the Sun Deck.

    Is there laundry service on board?

    Yes, laundry services are available on board for a fee. A price list will be provided in your stateroom. Please note that dry cleaning is not available.

    Tipping

    Gratuities are included. However, if someone’s service exceeds your expectations, you are more than welcome to offer an additional tip at your discretion.

    When will I receive my travel documents?

    Boarding passes, cruise documents, and final itinerary will be mailed one month prior to your departure.
